Our Pure-Rest pure
natural rubber mattress has 5.5-6 inch pure
chemical-free natural rubber core which is then surrounded by organic
cotton fabric layer, organic cotton batting and organically processed wool
from organically raised sheep quilted to our deluxe Pure-Rest
European organic cotton fabric which ensures the wool will not migrate out
over the years. The quilting
prevents shifting and provides a sturdy durable, and comfortable sleeping
surface. Our extra amount of wool and organic cotton batting make the top
more comfortable than other manufacturers who tend to use a little less on
top to cut costs. Unfortunately that can cause your mattress to feel
firmer over time. These mattresses easily
conform to your body's shape and minimizes pressure on your joints and
back. Highly recommended by chiropractors for back support without the
uneven support such as all innerspring mattresses have.
Customize your support and your firmness.
The 6" core of any type of mattress is your support, If you put a topper
or a latex overlay about 2" thick, you will not affect support, this only
affects your comfort. We chose to make this system as it is affordable and
supportive. The layered beds with more than 2 layers seem to often have
problems of breaking down (if the individual layers are not covered to
prevent scraping against each other), or if the 2 bottom cores are firm
and medium - it is firmer than a 6" medium core. Choose your support here:
Medium (25ILD recommended for children)
FIRM (31 ILD most prefer this)
ExtraFIRM (35ILD for overweight persons or
those who prefer a firm feel)
The Lurra mattress is a vegan style
which is 6" of natural rubber covered with our organic cotton ticking.
Vegan style will feel a bit softer as there is no topping on these. Not
available in California due to stringent flame retardant regulations in
this state.

2 different foundations: Basic Slat Foundation for the
solid base feel or an Adjustable Slat to further customize and
change your support in the lumbar area of your back.

wrap it in our unique quilted outer to create a 5.5-6" mattress. The
higher the mattress, the less safe it is as your baby grows. We quilt
together a layer of organic cotton fabric, organic batting, organically
processed wool from organically raised sheep, and our attractive European
organic cotton Pure-Rest fabric. By quilting all this together we can use
more topping materials to give you longevity and provide a uniform
supportive sleeping surface.
