| The ONLY USDA certified organic
sheep in the world producing Merino Wool for comforters
WARNING: Be careful
of washable wool as they contain dioxins produced by the chlorine
bleaching.

Our new quilted organic wool
comforters are a phenomenal fill of super silky Merino Wool from
certified organic sheep that graze in the most sheep friendly part of
the world, Kyrgyzstan. Shepherds there take great care of their sheep
and have not used pesticides or herbicides for over 20 years since their
separation from communist Soviet Union. This predominantly textile
country takes pride in the care of their 8 million sheep which graze
freely on the grassy hills of this lush country. These sheep are sheared
only once a year producing a fiber which is long and silky, much more
comfortable than U.S. wool which is taken twice yearly and is suited
more for mattresses. This merino fiber which is silky and clean
naturally due to the lack of industrialization in this country, it is ideal for a
purely luxurious comforter. Note: Because of
the organic nature, this comforter has a natural pleasant (to some) very
lite odor
of sheep. This smell will dissipate over time.

USDA certified sheep are
sheared once a year for their fine Merino fur to make our luxury
comforters. Merino Sheep are raised for their wool coats, not for meat
so special attention is given to their coats. We quilt this inside our wonderful 300 thread count hand
picked and finely made organic cotton fabric.

Merino Wool Fiber Smell
Our R&D staff are working on it
to figure out how to decrease the smell of the fiber. Smell should
exist as it is processed organically. They will do their best to
come with an alternative acceptable solution.
How do sheep sleep?
Merino sheep, as other sheep, may
sleep standing leaning to each other, or on the grass on their side.
Doesn't really affect the quality of the wool fiber as told above
the fine merino wool is hand selected during sorting and grading.
National List of Allowed
and Prohibited Substances by NOP of USDA for organic merino wool
fiber:
Attached is the full text of NOP.
Look for 205.600 for the allowed and prohibited substances.
The USDA label can be used on our
sheep and raw wool as it is all 100% organic. Washed and carded wool
is certified as "made with organic".

Wool Washing
There is 3 step wool washing and
5 step wool washing. We use 5 step wool washing. Gives cleaner,
softer, purer wool fiber. We use Sodium Carbonate,
an allowed processing aid by USDA NOP
Program for taking the grease away from wool. We use
organic soap.

Fabric Processing
Cotton is grown, hand picked,
processed all organically in India. Find the copy of the GOTS
(Global Organic Textile Standard to find more on fabric processing).
Mulesing
is
the surgical removal of strips of wool-bearing wrinkle skin from
around the tail of a sheep.
Mulesing is common practice in Australia.
It is performed as a way to prevent
flystrike (a skin infestation of
fly larvae) in regions where
flystrike is common, especially on Merino
sheep. Current veterinary opinion considers the
practice to be a necessary compromise in providing for the
general welfare of sheep in areas of
Australia.
Kyrgyzstan's 80% are mountains and green hills with more than
two thousand lakes spread out in the territory like Nebraska.
Kyrgyzstan's natural conditions are much better for the Merino
breed to adapt.
We don't perform mulesing. No need.
