We take a sturdy, thick hard pine and cover it with our organic cotton fabric and our organically processed wool. This creates an attractive foundation for all of our mattresses. Ours is a lot of sturdy wood instead of those thin slats most of our competitors use. Slats are 3.5" wide and are 2" apart.
