We show
each step of how we make our organic mattresses. This should demystify the
process and show you how we differ from other mattresses currently on the
market. This may take a minute to load.
This shows the clipping of
the mattress springs then at right the fiber to hold the metal strips in
place are added. Note that our fiber contains no chlorine, no formaldehyde.
also see how close our metal is together. This is one indicator of what we
do to keep the mattress supportive. If you spread them out more, your
mattress may sag before the 20 year warranty that we have.
At the left is one of our
edge supports. These are sturdy metal which gives complete support all
around the edge of the mattress. At the right is our layer of organic cotton
batting which is placed on first and secured to the edges to provide the
cushioning from the springs.
Notice how much padding
from organic cotton and Pure-growtm wool is added to each side.
Here one side is shown. Two heavily thick carded batts of organic cotton and
one of the wool. This was placed on top of the already thick layer of
organic cotton shown to above right.
The picture at left shows
the cotton batt on one side has been covered with a layer of organic cotton
fabric and clipped to the spring unit. At right shows the thick layers of
cotton batt that is then put on top of that fabric and batt. Notice the
organic cotton tape edge has been added for an attractive edge.
At the left the last layer
of Pure-Growtm wool has been added. This is then carefully
stuffed with some extra batting into the corners to provide a smooth corner.
The sides are also pushed
in to the organic fabric. The mattress at right is the standard innerspring
which has the quilted edge fabric that has been quilted with wool for extra
moisture control. Notice the top quilted layer of another cotton batt and
another wool batt is placed on top of all these layers for a nice even
surface.
This procedure differs
in quantity and quality from any other organic manufacturer that we are
aware of. You can even see in many suppliers catalogs the lack of batting.
notice in some when they have a zip-off cover, the quilting is minimal and
there is not much padding. This lack of battings take away breathability and
durability. We show you our processes to allow you to make an informed
decision when buying your mattress.
Features of our Organic and Natural Rubber Latex
Mattresses
Our
rubber mattresses are constructed by simply enclosing rubber core with the
same quilted outer as shown above. There is no cotton batting, just organic
cotton fabric and organic wool. This is the most allergy resistant mattress
due to natural properties of unbleached wool and rubber.
